For Christmas this year I bought my Wife a Volkswagen Beetle, specifically a 1973 Super Beetle. Why? That was what was around this area and cheap. I handed over $800 to the Previous Owner and then drove home our first Bug! The Wife loves her and decided to name her Brigitte.
I've had her at a local mechanics already and while Brigitte is in okay condition there are problem areas. Like brakes. I've been debating on repairing the brakes, even though I know next to nothing about cars and their parts, or replacing them with disc brakes. First though I need to get her up on some jacks and get a look at those drum brakes.
Anyways, I'm hoping to use this blog as sort of an adventure log for my learning about cars, maintenance and what not. Also as a way to track what I have spent on her, throughout her lifespan.
